About Carnes Hill

Carnes Hill is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Carnes Hill is located 38 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region.

Bus services run from the Liverpool city centre to Carnes Hill and the suburb is also located close to the M7 Motorway, Cowpasture Road, Hoxton Park Road and Camden Valley Way.

Carnes Hill is a developing suburb that was rezoned in the 1990's. Residents have access to the Carnes Hill Market Place which has 50 specialty and 3 major stores. Plans are in place to build a community and recreation centre next to the market place on the corner of Kurrajong Road and Cowpasture Road.

Carnes Hill has two schools Greenway Park Public School and Holy Spirit Primary School.

In 2011 there were over 1,200 dwellings in the Carnes Hill – Hoxton Park area with over 4,200 residents living in the area.  Council has planned a future road connection between Kurrajong Road, Carnes Hill and Kurrajong Road, Prestons. This will provide areas west of Prestons an alternate main connector road when travelling in an east-west direction.

The current planning controls applying to Carnes Hill are under Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 2008 and Liverpool Development Control Plan 2008 Part 2.2. These planning controls can be found on Council's website.

Limited data is currently available for Carnes Hill as it is a new development area and still in the early stages of development.
