About West Hoxton
West Hoxton, NSW, 2171 is located approximately 40 kilometres from Sydney CBD, and is well serviced by buses and with recent upgrades in surrounding areas, there are now train stations nearby. West Hoxton located in the Liverpool District and is surrounded by local suburbs including Austral, Hoxton Park, Horningsea Park, Middleton Grange and Bringelly. West Hoxton is located in Southwest Sydney.
The area comprises of residential, rural and commercial properties. The very first residential estate built in 1997 was Pine Ridge Estate, just off Cowpasture Rd. In the early years there was no local shopping centre, just a small set of shops in Hoxton Park and West Hoxton. With major residential development over the next 18 years the area now has a large local shopping centre known as Carnes Hill Market Place located in Horningsea Park just off Cowpasture Rd. The majority of West Hoxton consists of freestanding residential houses, with the remainder being rural properties, some commercial properties and townhouses.
The most recent census shows that approximately 95% of properties in the Chatswood postcode are owner-occupied (either fully owned or being bought). The lastes census shows a population of just under 10,000 in West Hoxton. There are four schools in the area: Hoxton Park Public School (established in 1882), Greenway Public School (established in 2000) Thomas Hassall Anglican College (established in 2000) and Clancy Catholic College (established in 2006).
In addition to the major shopping centres, the area provides the benefit of a range of cafes and restaurants, medical centres and currenty undergoing major upgrades with a new Library including sporting facilities. West Hoxton first began to develop in the late 1990's as a residental area.
